If the line needs clearing, it needs clearing. If it has collapsed and clearing it buys four months, we say that instead of selling you four months.

We say when it is not our job
A full septic tank needs a pumping company. A backup that only happens in heavy rain may be the street sewer. Both come up, and in both cases saying so is the useful thing we can do.
